DBM_BOOTH AT IMM 09 "Designing by Making" Under this same motto a workshop was held with students of HfG Karlsruhe (Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design) at the CIAV Meisenthal in Lorraine (Centre International d´art Verrier) in early 2009. Initiated by Werner Aisslinger a number of methods were developped, in which glass objects were to be produced not only by blowing the hot glass into wooden or metallic moulds in a way it was traditionally done, but to experiment with new materials and newly conceived moulding techniques, sometimes combined with the Meisenthal traditional stock of moulds, in such a way as to create objects that were symbiotic in both material and or form. The show features the entirety of fascinating objects produced during one week of exploration, but also a small choice of objects consequently evolved to be sold. |
